This figure represents an officer form the German Imperial Army. Officers tended to be from the ruling class and were very well trained and disciplined. Most were from University Cities and already had some military training through the universities/schools they went to. So when war did come they were well versed in tactics and leadership.

This figure represents a British officer at the start of the Great War. As you can see from his manor, going over the top carrying a swagger stick, the belief it would be a walk in the park though brave, how wrong and rather naive those young officers were.

This figure represents a Russian Officer 1914 at the start of the Great War. The officer class would later be decimated when the Russian revolution started. This figure could represent an officer from the White Army later in the war.
